For to long the education system has been a political tool which has resulted in a demoralised workforce of teachers/lecturers/heads/principals/students and a creaky cirriculum . The current 'parent power' academies is just another example of this. Let the professionals decide what works to achieve a system with a long term realistic vision.
Put education in the hands of the professionals, in other words the teachers. Not the parents and the academics.
Survey all of the teachers to find out, in their professional opinion, how the education system should be developed for the future. They won't all agree but the consensus will provide a real strategic plan for the future. Then implement it and stick with it.
