Parliamentary Privilege should be scrapped.

Laws must apply equally to everyone, there can be no exceptions especially those who make the laws in the first place.

Why is this idea important?

MPs have given themselves a privileged place in society.

They are exempt from libel and slander laws.

They can vote their own pay rises.

They have generous allowances that would leave anyone else faced with a massive tax bill for "payments in kind". Some have even tried to use Parliamentary Privilege in their defence to blatant expenses fraud.

If a local councilor mis-manages the budget he is liable to be surcharged. Gordon Brown virtually bankrupted the country brought to book?

How can we respect them as law makers when the laws they make don't apply to them.
