Operators of CCTV who do not (or are unreasonably slow) to respond to the publics requests for captured images (as per our rights under the Data Protection Act) should have their right to operation of CCTV removed. This goes for public and private organisations.

Why is this idea important?

CCTV operators very seldom understand the publics rights to their captured images. Requests to obtain these images are often met with confusion or just plain defiance of the Data Protection Act. Only organisations who are willing to ensure our rights should be allowed to operate CCTV. A complaints service should be estabished and the complaints recorded and investigated where our rights have been violated.
