People who paid for a HIP, sometimes costing more than £500, between putting their house up for sale and HIPs being abandoned by the present Government, should have some or all of the cost refunded by the Government.

Why is this idea important?

This was a ridiculous idea in the first place as solicitors have affirmed it was of little use and was another cynical stealth tax by the labour government. People who have been caught by this unfair cost and are currently in the process of moving will have [a] paid for a HIP up front and [b] in most cases will have to pay again because HIPs have been abandoned. This is grossly unfair.
