If the coalition government are not able to completely change the removing of soft information from Enahnced CRBs why not have an independent body who decide if soft information is released. The police can pass cases onto them to assess. At the moment it is a lucky dip-some police forces will rarely release soft information others will do so all of the time. This will also save police time because at the moment when police release soft information on an enhanced CRB there is a dispute and the police have to investigate. They then have to change and re-change the wording of the information. People will then also see the CRB as being fairer.
