Review the role of  job centre plus, bring back common sense and help those genuinely seeking work.

Why is this idea important?

Ever changing rules mean the job centre does not provide the service that it should to those genuinely seeking work.

If staff were more available, and not at the end of a phone, then their customers would feel more welcome and less intimidated.  The necessity for all the security guards would also decrease.

Change the attitudes of staff to appreciate that many are actually seeking work and treat them in a fair and respectful manner.

Allow job seekers to have just one visit to the job centre to be able to obtain a travel warrant (currently one phone call and two visits, which is too expensive for the job seeker – and too time consuming for the staff).

Make the Job Centre a place where people are helped into work.
