To use exercise as a small but important part of criminal rehabilitation. At the moment, most criminals aren't given enough exercise time a week, nor are there the facilties to accommodate the amount of prisoners there are. The role of exercise in mental wellbeing is well documented and I believe forms an important part of rehabilitation.

Why is this idea important?

I believe in punishing people for their crimes – but for the sake of society, rehabilitation is essential. At the moment, we're just not helping ourselves. This isn't about making lives more enjoyable but reaping the mental and physical benefits that exercise brings.

If we don't even meet the basics – giving these (predominatly) young men an hour a day to exercise for the purpose of mental benefit – we, as a society, are screwed.
