Make the Law ensure musicians are paid at the gig.

Currently the Law allows a venue or a corporation or person who books musicians to take as long as they like to pay them. If the musician is booked via an Agent, the Law ensures that the Agent must pay the musician within a stipulated timescale but the venue escapes this regulation.

This means that musicians are often waiting several months to recieve money for their gig.

Please change the Law so that either the venue must settle up at the month end

OR

make it Law that the musicians get paid on the night and send the Agent their commission at the month end.

Why does this idea matter?

Because thousands of jobbing musicians are struggling to make ends meet because the Law allows people who employ their services to take as long as they like to pay them.
