Any law which has not been implemented, or cited within the past ten years is hardly likely to be invoked at some future date. There is a lot of dross on the statute books. This should all be removed.

Why is this idea important?

For some years now all court cases have been logged on computers as well as the customary Law Reports created for exceptional hearings which have added to the body of law.  From these it is possible to ascertain which laws have not been used within the past decade and to set up a Parliamentary Bill to scrap them all at a stroke.

How? By using University students studying law throughout the country who would be thrilled to be involved in doing something practical. Each County could be responsible for its own court proceedings.

After the initial flood of useless legislation being repealed, it could then become an annual task relating to the 10th year past to keep the system always up to date.
