The idea is important because it is so obvious that laws must be proposed and passed into binding legislation by as many interests as possible. No special political, religious or ideological influences should be allowed to predominate and create tyranny for others. Consent implies collaboration and acceptance by a very broad spectrum of the majority but not solely to benefit and satisfy only a majority. We need to enfranchise many people and all interests that are tested and found valid for this purpose. Sunset clauses to provide a limiting device and self-denying by the majority ordinance for revision in all cases.
Legislation in its formative stages should be capable of being initiated by bodies other than political parties with political agendas and biases. It is perverse to assume that only one set of standards and rights are to be allowed to initiate laws and regulations that affect everyone.
