There is an imbalance between the right of a company to continue its business and the right of employees to withdraw their labour. It is not in the public interest for strikers to hold the public to ransom.
Employees' right to withdraw their labour is important and should be protected. The company employing them should also have the right to continue to run its business while its staff withdraw their labour. Currently, it is illegal for the company to hire temporary staff to perform the work that the permanent staff ar declining to do. This illegality should be repealed.
