If religious people wish to worship, they can do so on their own, in their place of worship or in a prayer room, where available. It is intolerant to inflict religious views on non-religious people. Furthermore, it implies that in civic and public matters, the christian deity is sovereign over the state. The sooner we recognise that we are a secular state and religion is eliminated from schools and all public and civic events, the better.
Please remove the regulation or by-law to say prayers at public meetings, eg council meetings, etc. We live in a secular, pluralist society and our laws and practices should reflect that.
