I live on an estate of private roads. All the residents have to pay for the upkeep of the rods and lighting etc.

Some of the roads are used as a cut through by a lot of traffic.

The County council disputes our rights. It would cost tens or hundreds of thousands of pounds to fight a legal case.

So we lose 2 ways, we have to pay for the upkeep of roads where probably the majority of users are not residents, or visiting residents.

The law should be clear and fair.

We should either get a contribution from the county, or be allowed to exclude traffic.

Why is this idea important?

Because the present situation is manifestly unfair, and many of the residents have been very concerned for many years.
