If the public sector charged job applicants to read their job adverts, there would be an outcry.
- It would be thought discriminatory.
- It would be thought inefficinient or worse to exclude so many candidates.
So why exclude so many businesses from seeing the tender adverts?
Oh: this is what the coalition has already said: "We will promote small business procurement, in particular by introducing an aspiration that 25% of government contracts should be awarded to small and medium-sized businesses and by publishing government tenders in full online and free of charge."
