It is important that the paymasters i.e. the tax and rate payers of this country know what and who we are paying. "PUBLIC SERVANTS" need to remember that they are exactly that, and are therefore directly accountable to their paymasters. If the public are aware of "silly salaries" and inflated departments, they can at least make representations to their MPs and local councillors to curtail them. At present the tax and rate payers have no information and therefore no control.
Everyone in public service (including those in Quangos) should have a job title that is published and each job title should have it's salary range published alongside it. All public servants receiving over £100,000 should be named.
