Bank charges are still too high and disproportionate in cost. This results in people getting into a cycle of debt and this needs to be changed.
The laws surrounding unfair bank charges should be made clearer and a cap should be imposed on the maximum charge to stop banks from ripping off customers.
In the past, Nick Clegg said he supported people claiming back bank charges which was later reversed by the High Court. The government should appeal this decision and start a process of allowing consumers to reclaim unfair bank charges.
