Many religions ignore laws such as equal rights for women and homosexuality.  Unless a religion conforms to the spirit of the law, it should,  as a minimum, not be classified as a religion, and, if necessary, its members should be prosecuted for not positively adhering to equal rights.

Why is this idea important?

Many people have had to fight hard for equal rights for women and homosexuality, but many religions (old and new) completely ignore these basic rights.  Unless the laws are enforced, everything these people have fought for over the years will be for nothing.
