This restriction effects business as younger empolyees cannot operate vehicles without going through excessivly expensive training for little pratical benefit. It also has a greater impact on the equestrian and rural communities. Most people are not aware of the restriction and continue to drive trailers without the licence which invalidates the insurance. A repeal of this law would have a massive pratical benefit.
Any person who gained a driving licence after 1997 is required to take another driving test with trailer in order to gain the entitlement. I would propose that this be scrapped and all licences carry the trailer entitlement.
