in the Netherlands 10% (lonely planet-statistic 2001) of people own their own property ,and rents

are controlled by the government at reasonable levels. Here in the U.K. we pay some of the highest rents in the developed world. For people with low incomes it amounts to a third or even a half of our incomes.

The ECONOMY would benefit enormously if people had reasonable rents because of all the spare cash generated. Less debt would be created.

Who benefits from high rents = debt recovery agencies , landlords( who often have several properties).

Profit can still be gained from a REASONABLE rent regime. Excessive greed drives this engine.

Why is this idea important?

The ECONOMY would benefit enormously if people had reasonable rents because of all the spare cash generated, to be spent in retail, catering, gardening, DIY, leisure etc etc

Less DEBT would be created.

Happiness and security, matter
