I propose that section 2 2 c of Part one of the Charities Act 2006 be deleted.

This section creted a catagory of charity for  "the advancement of religion;"

I propose that the advancement of religion can not be reconcilled with the "public benfit" requirement and therefore should be removed.

Why is this idea important?

"advancement of religion" covers a multitude of sins however, in truth few religions can advance thier faith in any qualitative manner, most of them are bound up by ancient rules "written in stone" so the majority of advancement is in numbers by converting people to thier faith.

I just don't see why we should give people with a different faith persepective to ourselves charitable status in iorder to try and change our minds.

As part of a shift towards a secular state we should not be granting special privilages to religions, we need to keep a clear division between the two.

All good charitable work done by religious organisations should be already registered under non religious catagories so this will have no impact on other good charitable works undertaken by religious organisdations.

  1. I totally agree that section 2 2 c of Part one of the Charities Act 2006 be deleted. My POV is that this act gives an unfair biased to an organisation with abhorrent moral codes from scriptures of ancient primitive cultures.
