Currently by law we must pay all of our employees holiday pay. That includes our pot washer, who works only on Saturdays This means that out of 52 Saturdays a year, he only works 46.4 of them. We have to pay him for the days of on holiday. Multiply this out over 25 members of shift staff and you are suddenly faced with an almighty staff bill, coupled with the ever increasing minimum wage (which I do believe in). These measures, along with the constant upping of holiday entitlement, has meant that we have stopped taking on new staff. Not exactly helpful to the job crisis. I believe that holiday entitlement should apply only for staff employed over 16 hours per week.

Why is this idea important?

In order to increase the number of people we employ we seriously need to reduce our staff costs.
