On January 1st 2005 legislation came into effect which brought electrical work in dwellings under the Building Regulations, and made it a controlled service. This amendment to the Building Regulations, known as “Part P”, classifies electrical installation work into two basic categories, notifiable and non-notifiable. Notifiable work has to be approved by the Local Authority.

Why is this idea important?

This regulation is red tap for red tape's sake.  It restricts people from doing DIY work to their ownhomes.  The effect is to prevent people from doing DIY work to their houses, since they now have to pay the Local Council to approve it, thus negating any savings.

Remove these restrictions please.
