I believe the RIP Act should be repealed as it allows snooping without a court order and actually prohibits the person being spied upon being told thus preventing them from mounting a legal challenge.

Why is this idea important?

There needs to be a procedure to allow LEGAL surveillance for the purposes of law enforcement, but the checks and balances provided by a need for authorisation and the ability to challenge have been removed by the RIP Act.
