Repeal the 1701 Act of Settlement, which bars non-Protestants, adopted children and people born to unmarried parents from succeeding to the throne.

Why is this idea important?

The 1701 Act of Settlement is anti-Catholic, is discriminatory towards adopted children and people born to unmarried parents. It also discriminates against women by favouring male succession.

This 18th-Century relic has no place in the 21st Century.  It is high time that the Westminster Parliament recognised that any form of religious discrimination is no longer acceptable.
