This well-meaning but inoperable bit of legislation attempts to define types of mongrel which are allegedly dangerous and has been a Horlicks since it was introduced. There have been few successful prosecutions and – as could be predicted – some dogs are still dangerous.

Why is this idea important?

We have seen just as many children injured and killed by dogs of all breeds since the Act. Replace this pointless Act with a new Dog Licensing Act which insists new, prospective owners attend approved dog training classes and pass an examination, then have to register and microchip the dogs they buy.

Responsible dog owners have no problem with this, and every reason to push out yobs with mutts.
