We should replace donor cards with non-donor cards, those who do not wish to donate would need to get a non-donor card to opt out.

Why is this idea important?

The EU does not regulate organ donation uniformally, the decision is left to memberstates. According to a 2010 NYT article, a total of 24 European countries have some form of presumed consent (opt-out) system, with the most prominent and "hardest" opt-out systems in Spain, Austria and Belgium yielding high donor rates.

This will save lives do it.

  1. this idea is ridiculous. It would mean everybody is “opted in” until proven otherwise. What if something was taken and then it was found they had opted out? A court case for “stealing” someones organs. The My family know that if anything is taken of mine I would haunt them and the person who took my organs. I would not take any organs from someone else even if it meant that I died and would not donate any of mine to anyone else. It’s stupid and the only way to ensure that nothing is taken is to tattoo the fact on your body.

    1. Jan your comments are appalling.
I wonder if you have ever known anyone who has needed an organ. Waited for an organ? Watching that person’s health continuously deteriorate in front of you with nothing you can do is one of the hardest things you could possibly have to do.
What happens to your organs when you die? They deteriorate and do nothing. By being an organ donor you’re doing something fantastic with yourself- you giving life to another human being. The fact that you would never donate nor would you take an organ are big words from someone who clearly has no real insight to the ramifications of real survival.
My best friend has ‘survived’ all her life, slowly the Cystic Fibrosis she was born with is causing her body to deteriorate. She spends most of her life in and out of hospital. She can have no children because of the strain it would put on her body. She cannot adopt because she is told her health means she could be in the hospital too much to raise a child- for someone who wanted to be a mother this was a devastating reality. She is the nicest person I have ever met could wished to meet and fantastic with children.
Personally I think your comments rotten and disgusting. Perhaps you should actually find out some real facts before you scream out your uninformed opinions! #moron
