Where I recognize that speed humps play an important part in road safety, I also recognize the damage it causes to expensive motor vehicles and the cost of maintenance to repair those vehicles damaged by speed humps.

Remove speed humps where appropriate and install digital speed warning signs to advise a 20 mph speed limit in built areas in school holiday times.

Occassional random speed checks could be used to educate and enforce speed restrictions.

Why is this idea important?

It would strike a balance for all responsible road users with regard to safety, whilst encompassing fairness to the motorist who is being financially punsihed by the cost of expensive repairs to their vehicle.
