Surely restoring freedom starts with everyone having the same ones before the law. Same-sex couples are recognised as legally equal to straight couples since the Civil Partnerships Act, but they still don't have the same rights to marriage.
Repeal the Matrimonial Causes Act 1973, thus removing the legal barrier to the introduction of same-sex marriage.
