It is a basic human right to be able to choose one's own beliefs as one matures.  As schools should teach  'balanced' religious studies, both religious and non religious beliefs, it should not be necessary to then hold an assembly(ies) that is, by structure, similar or the same as a service of one particular belief.

Why is this idea important?

It is important to always educate and inform and offer experiences within any programme of 'education' in a balanced unbiased way.  Each child's mind is an open book in many respects, In fairness, society should not allow those who wish to indoctriante to go 'writing'  in that book unless invited to do so.
