The NHS cannot currently sell their own land for a peppercorn to a developer or swap it for private land to a developer.

Why is this idea important?

This would enable new hospitals buildings to be built without the cost of land involved either on NHS Land per se or on a private swap for more suitable land development for NHS purposes.  There is a statute that blocks this, but I don't know what it is.
