There is a law which means that if you clear your pavement of snow, whether as a business or anyone else, you would be held responsible and charged if someone fell over or anything there. This meant that during the heavy snowfall of winter 09/10, many businesses were unable to clear the snow from the front of thier business for fear of being charged. Surely if tge pavements are the governments responsibility, they should be the one being fined if they don’t clear the pavements themselves and someone fell over, even if some kind person had bothered to clear it?

Why is this idea important?

This idea is important because this law prevents people from helping each other, and hinders businesses as they either face a fine for doing the right thing, or they face a lack of business as no customers particularly like having to navigate piles of snow on a shopping trip.
