Reducing administrative burdens

We've heard some very inflammatory statements about the "administrative burden" in some areas of the N.H.S. but there are large industries growing up around Health & Safety Law, Human Rights, Political Correctness, Compensation Culture etc. employing a myriad of non-productive and irrelevant people jumping onto bandwagons.

It is now time that there is a responsible and objective review of all laws in these areas.

It cannot be right that if I ask for a black coffee I am accused of being a racist! What happened to "being responsible for your own safety" as described in H.A.S.A.W. Act? I hope my grandchildren will play conkers! All women shortlists irrespective of talent and capability!

European law of human rights

isn't it time that anyone violating the rights of another human being forfeits their rights to protection from this overblown law. The rights of the criminal are too often put above those of their victims.

ban the burkha?

The burkha is an ugly and unpleasant form of dress, but not as ugly and unpleasant as the attitude of those who think they have a right to enforce their petty will on others.  The values of our way of life (such as are left) are demonstrated by tolerance above all things and tolerance is often hard work.  Burkhas should be formally banned only in schools, medical facilities and courts of law.  For the rest it is sufficient that a non-judgemental education campaign advises the wearers that hiding the face in our culture is very offensive and if they wish to do it then they can expect some degree of cold-shouldering and general social isolation.  And would they like it, for example, if others wore balaclava helmets or Ku Klux Klan hoods?

Restore my civil liberty to not be discriminated against on the grounds of sex or race – which was eroded by parts of the ‘Equality Bill’.

Parts of the 'Equality Bill' made it legal to engage in sex and race discimination. This is typicaly used to discriminate against white male job applicants, though females and blacks could also occasionally fall foul of it. This is clearly an violation of the fundamental rights and civil liberties of citizens.

These rights and civil liberties can be restored by repealing the relevant parts of the Equalities Bill.

European Human Rights act

Getting rid of the  european human rights act, as this has  proved itself to  be a  charter for crooks we like federal europe would be better off out of it one  more lot of interference out of our lives.

The sovereign right to individuality, to opinion and free thoughts

I recall the era when to be an individual was respected unquestionably. In fact it was honoured and fully respected. Now we have to watch everything we say or do for there is no freedom to be fully human. We have a right to the full range of human emotion in our hearts and on our lips, to our own unique ideas and also our opinions. There is no NEED for police to stroll our streets staring at everyone so we feel impelled to restrain every spontaneous urge, from a loud sigh to a harmless roar of anger at the sky, to the swinging as we walk of a clenched fist, or tears, or sheer joy of being alive on this wonderful earth. Now I feel as if I exist in a prison without bars for where are we allowed our full human potential allotted to each and every one of us at birth?? Does our country only want potential bureaucrats from every one of us? Where would be the Isadora Duncans, the Gaugains, a D.H. Lawrence, a Mahatma Gandhi or any libertarian in our present strait laced and wholly unnatural society?

Get rid of the Equality and Human Rights Commission

The Equality and Human Rights Commission is actually far from what it's name would suggest.  The main putpose of this heavily biased and expensive department serves only to grant privilege and extra rights to minority religious and ethnic groups at the expense of the British populace.  Frequently, this is achieved by forcing a "re-translation" of certain laws, the mis-use of the "Human Rights Act", expensive appeals to the European Courts and costly court cases to bypass or overturn sensible rules and regulations.   The Equality and Human Rights Commission is expensive (paid for out of our taxes) and lacks common sense.

Scrap the rule requiring Fire Service, etc. to employ staff whose ethnic origin is same as general public.

I don't know if it's the law, or just a guidance. But organisations like the fire service are supposed to reflect the general ethnic make-up of the area they serve: e.g. if 5% of the population are Polish them 5% of the fire service staff must also be Polish. This is ridiculous, because if Polish people want to join the fire service they would've stayed in Poland! If they've got Polish parents, they'd probably apply to join a fire brigade in Poland, where it's cheaper to live.

Improve Access for Disabled Travellers

You should change the Disabiltiy Discrimination Act so that it prevents bus companies from banning Class 2 travel scooters on their vehicles.  These vehicles take up no more room than an electric wheelchair, and fit into the space identified as adequate by European legislation.  Companies all over England discriminate against Class 2 scooter users because they don’t understand their own regulations – or –make them up as they go along.  If a disabled person chooses to use a small travel scooter rather than a wheelchair it is usually for 3 reasons:  1) They are cheaper than an electric wheelchair  2) They are lighter than an electric wheelchair and 3) You have somewhere to put your shopping or belongings in front of you rather than behind you where they can be stolen.  Change the law so that buses MUST carry Class 2 travel scooters.

Human Rights are for all Humans

The Human Rights Act should be retained and made a more integral part of government policy, applying to Every Human being, at the moment it seems only to apply to those selected by government.
