Repeal the Hunting Act 2004 and all other legislation that criminalises hunting with hounds

Repeal the Hunting Act 2004. Repeal the Badger Act. Remove the Polecat and Otter from list of protected species under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. Remove the Otter from the list of protected species under the Habitat Regulations 2010 and the EC Habitat Directive.

So that those who wish to hunt with hounds may do so.

Repeal Hunting Ban

The hunting ban should be repealed because it erodes personal freedom and caters for class-obsessed, prejudiced people who are ignorant about the way hunting simply follows the laws of nature.

Fox Hunting Ban

The views of some people wanting to repeal the fox hunt ban and how this can be listed under civil liberties is Sick Sick Sick!!!  As it is the same as saying 'I should be allowed to beat my dog to death if I want to because of civil liberties', I presume they do beat their dogs if they want to under their 'civil liberties'.  On the one hand these sick people say hunting is pest control, on the other it is a sport and social occassion, so which is it?  A government which allows animal cruelty to be classed as civil liberties is an absolute shameful disgrace, sick and absurd, we are not in 1562 but 2010!  The government should think very carefully  before even entertaining this subject!!!

A repeal of the hunting Act

The hunting Act should be repeled as it has proved to be unworkable, illiberel and a waste of Police time. It has given animal rights activists credence with the police as they aasume the position of monitors thinking that they are an extension of the Law, when they have publicly ststed that if tghere is a repeal they will revert to "sabbing" full time.

Let us hope that if and when the time comes for repeal, that this Government will not waste the hours on it that the former administration did and also take heed of the reports submitted on hunting especially that of Lord Burns.

Please do NOT repeal fox hunting law!

I beg you please, NOT to repeal the law on fox hunting, and the other hunting laws that it also covers eg. hare coursing etc.

I did not agree with many things that Labour did, as a strong Conservative supporter, but on the grounds of cruelty (as described by RSPCA & IFAW, both of which I support) believe this was one good thing they did.

There are no grounds on which people should hunt for sport, in this day and age.  It is a cruel practice.  There are better ways to manage animal populations.

Thank you.

Stop wasting parliaments time trying to repeal animal cruelty laws

No one on here is saying that livestock should be treated badly, dog fighting laws should be repealed, the RSPCA should be abolished. So in principal we agree that part of being a human is to be compassionate to 'lesser creatures' as I keep seeing animals referred too.

Yet we are suggesting that we take up constitutional time debating other ways of being cruel to animals as if it is some assault on our civil liberties.

If we agree that we should be humane – keep livestock in good conditions, not tortures our pets, not neglect our animals and not mistreat the family budgerigar then it is inconsistent to say that certain animals and practices are civil liberty issues.

They aren't.

As a society we have already accepted  humane treatment for animals as a standard – if it isn't humane you can't do it – simple really!

Repeal Foxhunting Act

The act is unworkable and definitely had a big negative impact on rural communities. Farmers and other land owners have had their civil liberties restricted and should be allowed to decide for themselves how best to keep down vermin.

I thought we were moving forwards!!

Absolutely NO to a repeal of the hunting ban.  The thought that this Government is prepared to do so is utterly shocking.  Even those within the hunting fraternity had difficulty explaining how it qualified as 'pest control'.  Let's move forwards NOT backwards, the UK deserves better than a return to the dark days of hunting fox, deer and hare with dogs.

Repeal of the Hunting Act

Remove this unneccesary law that cannot be policed nor do the police want to police it, wasting valuable time that should be spent policing our strees from real criminals. The law was brought in by the Labour government for no more reason than to try to win votes not for any real benefits to the countryside and those that live there.

The Act banning hunting with hounds should be repealed

A Coalition Government which, rightly, attaches considerable importance to civil liberties should advocate the repeal of an Act which has eroded the liberty of those who hunt. Many law abiding citizens have had to spend hours defending themselves, the majority succesfully, in court from an iniquitous piece of legislation.

Repeal the Hunting Act

Stopping rural people from using hounds for pest control is a gross intrusion on rural civil liberties.

The banning of hunting with hounds was passed by a combination of urban MPs who do not understand country issues and on whom it had absolutely no effect and by Scottish MPs for whom it was not relevant.

This act needs to be repealed.

Repeal the Hunting Act

The Hunting Act 2004 should be repealed. The welfare of the fox population and the vitality of the countryside depends on it. It is the most humane form of fox control which is both selective and beneficial to the fox population. The law, morover, is badly written and non sensicle.
