Spent convictions (minor) should be cleared from the PNC

I would like to see a limit on storing and sharing information about spent convictions after a period of time and believe it minor criminal records should be scraped after a period of time.

I believe the current status recently ammended to expand the data to employers on spent convictions are a disgrace and will allow for discrimination in the workplace for many young people who may have got into a bit of bother as teenagers.

A criminal conviction 20 years ago for theft should not hang around a persons neck as an intrusive life sentence and there should be limitations as to how long the police can hold such information. I am not talking about serious crime like murder or rape etc., CRB checks are in place to protect people at risk, not to continually punish reformed people who may have made a few mistakes many many years ago.

The current status quo in the UK is in my humble opinion unfair, discriminatory and quite frankly disgusting.
Not only is it possibly a breech the Human Rights Act, it makes the notion of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 absolutely worthless.

restoring liberty and freedom

the best way to restore the lost civil liberties in this country is to pull out of that cesspit of corruption and bring back real democracy to this country especially repelling that odious human rights act.

also the powers of the insiduos health and safety executive should be greatly reduced so a more common sense approach can be reintroduced

Human Rights Act

Get rid of the Human Rights Act it has become a charter for criminals sticking fingers not at the judiciary but at the core of our civil liberies. The innocent are now suffering from this poorly crafted, misinterpreted, abused and misrepresented part of our law. In its place we need our own Home Grown Civil Liberties Bill.

Scrap Human Rights Act

The Human Rights Act was basically fair to all until the great Blair signed us up to the amendment/greater involvement in 2006/2007. It is absolutely ridiculous the way that the HRA is now and that it is used in the way it is these days to escape punishment/deportation and many other instances that have enraged the British public over the last few years. the Act itself needs watering down/amending so it back the sensible HRA that it used to be and needs changing NOW!

As much as I realise that in certain countries people need protecting through injustice, abuse, violence etc from some government departments including the police, army, NHS, institutions such as prisons etc, Britian is not one of them.

Repeal the Human Rights Legislation

Repeal the Human Rights Legislation and replace with Human Rights and Responsibilities Legislation. If anyone wants to use the Human Rights legislation in support of an appeal or other requirements – then they must be able to support their case by demonstrating that they have adhered to their Human Responsibilities.

Europe

Come out of the European Union and do the same as Norway, pay so much each year to trade with Europe but are not ruled by a faceless load of idiots, we should stop obeying each and every rule that comes from Brussels, we should make our own laws, stop accepting the dregs of society from other countries and stop paying the ridiculous salaries to 'European MP's'

We should also stop obeying the Human Rights Bill, we managed very well before and will do so again

Europe has done more to ruin Great Britain than the Germans did in two World Wars.

The human rights act

The Human Rights Act should be scrapped.  The fact is there are too many civil liberties in England, not too few.  The charter is now a criminal charter which defends and protects the human rights of criminals; is being used by human rights lawyers to bleed the taxpayer of millions of pounds every year.  (Indeed, under Labour it developed into a legal equivalent of a cottage industry.  After all, the Saville enquiry lasted longer than the Labour Government which commissioned it, and cost under £200 million.  Most of which went to lawyers.)

The charter is now being used by immigrant jihadists and islamisists to play and bleed the system whilst either having been caught engaging in jihadim/islamisism against our country, or whom simply wish to use the Act as a terrorist weapon to taunt and spit at the nation.  (In the space of 24 hours alone, I have witnessed the Supreme court rule that immigrant muslim jihadist and terrorist Binyam Mohammed is to have his human rights protected, whilst on the same day also ruled that British troops in Afghanistan, are not to be protected irotected under thge Act.  The rights of muslim terrorists, sympathisers and jihadists are to be protected, but not our country's troops in Afghanistan.   WRONG, WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.

The fact is that we do not want this disgusting pernicious act, which is as much a threat to our country and our country's security,as the criminals and terrorists whom use it as a cash-cow, or simply use it as a legal weapon of attack.

i look forward to theday it is scrapped.  Saving lives and protecting our country and citizens are more important than the human rights of domestic enemies and terrorists.

LIFE AS IT WAS.

JUST LOOK AT THE ridiculous idea that we pay prisoners companstion in jail, never heard any one they should, lets face it once a law abideing persons steps over the line there right go too.

And now look at the police side, they cannot operate as they used to without some human rights issue comeing up, I am old enough to remember a while back when we did not have this burden hanging over us ,things were much better ,we where not walking on glass those days its all a mess go back to some good old days, or have our own which works for us not against us, and there are to many lawyers making money out of it.

Scrap the Human Rights Act

The Human Rights Act needs to be scrapped.

It is a great idea in theory and a terrible one in practice.  It is regularly used by unscrupulous lawyers to help the guilty escape justice, whilst diminishing the rights of innocent victims to the detriment of society at large.

It needs to be scrapped completely, or re-written line-by-line.

REPEAL THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT

Let us Replace this Act with a tailor made Act for Britain which places the rights of the victims above the rights of the perpetrators.

A Human Rights Act is ridiculous without a Human Responsibilities Act to accompany it!

Repeal Human Rights Law

The Human Rights Law completely distorts the normal common rights & priviledges of the majority in favour of the few , who more often than not have behaved in such a way as to abrogate those rights when any level of common sense is brought to focus on their situation.

This should be replaced with a Bill of Common rights which is based on a common sense interpretation of the rights of a law-abiding majority & a sense of community & British cultural "fair play".

Human Rights Act

It is time this country abolish the Human Rights Act. This act does not protect innocent people but protects the criminals of this country. It is widely abused by courts and barristers. Abolish it now.
