I would like applicants that come from outside the EU in order to marry a UK citizen to be able to work as soon as they arrive in the country. By denying them both benefits AND the right to work, you act to ensure that only relatively wealthy people can afford to come here, and you also ensure that people with savings are forced to use those savings to support living costs!
My now-husband would have been very happy to have worked as a cleaner or similar in the first three months in order to contribute towards the household expenses. As it was, he ended up having to rely on me to provide for everything, which does not foster a sense of equality and partnership in the marriage.

Immigrants / Asylum seekers / non UK nationals when convicted of a serious crime or as serial offender of lesser crimes should be deported along with their dependant families as undesirables. They should all be fingerprinted / retinas scanned to ensure they do not re-enter the country.

Boot camp
There is so much anti social behaviour, where the kids say they are bored! they are bored because they have everything. All they seem to do is hang around in groups especially at night and causing damage, or making peoples life hell. I think what is needed is that when a person reaches 18 yrs old does not have a job or collage and is signing on they should go to a boot camp, to show them how to respect people, and not use a swear word in every sentance, this will make them more responsible, and should be for 6-12 months at a time, because if they know something like this will happen, they may think twice if they decide to do something they should not, also it would save money on prisons, use the army to sort them out, and also get them to do community work, if they damage someone elses property, and also to pay for the damage, if they say they have no money, nearly all of them have mobile phones, computers, xbox and more, you say they sell that item to pay for the damage, again that would also make them think twice.
Also criminnal are treated really well, why is this, if someone is protecting there house, and someone breaks in then that person should be able to have the responsibility to guard their home, and not been taken to court because they attacked the burgular, this really needs changeing lots of people are not happy with this. so this really needs to be looked at, if someone breakes into your property you have a right to protect it and the family, so be on the side of the person that has been attacked, rather then always on the criminnals side!!!
These people are no longer scared of the police and like going into prison as they can be educated, fed with no worries, by going to prison it must be horrible, so that they do not want to go back, and these so called goody goodies should keep out of this, it is because of them that we are in this state. Also teachers should be given more power, at the moment the kids egg on the teachers saying go on hit me then I can contact my parents, caining needs to be brought back, together with dicipline (which no longer exsists).
This is important and must be looked at, we are a soft nation, we need to be more firm, especially on immigration amd people coming from europe, they get all the help, yet if you go to a europe country you get nothing. This should be like canada and australia they can only work in the uk, if there is no one in the uk able to do the job, britain is in a mess and many british people are getting very angry about this situation, where has england gone?
Lets get Britain back to british. and finally the Jobcentres need to be sorted the way they treat customers, and not telling them what they are entitled to is absultly discusting, there is a discration fund of £300 for clothes for interviews, the jobcentre has been told NOT to say anything about this to the customer (The DWP/JCP need to be more open) Mr.Purnell in April 2009 put an article in the paper regarding this. JCP staff are not trained, do not know about customer service, they are a disastor. When they make mistakes on benefits the customer has to suffer, I can give you many example of the stress that the JCP have caused to individuals, leading to suicide. I could go one but something needs to be done.

Opt out of Euro legislation that is not right for the UK
It's important that the new government protects this country from whatever threatens it. currently that threat is mostly economic (plus perhaps terrorism).
We must be able to manage immigration, and that means stopping or even reversing immigration from within the EU. The current regulations introduced to manage immigration must apply to all immigration regardless of the point of origin.

Passengers using Heathrow T5 and Gatwick airports are photographed before entering the departure area, with the mug shot checked at the departure gate. This should stop.
T5 and Gatwick should come into line with other UK airports where photographic ID is examined at the check-in desk and again at the departure gate. Transit passengers have Passports checked by Immigration staff.
Air travel is not a crime and passengers should not be subjected to any part of an arrest procedure.

The government should re-examine the previous government's proposals regarding the path to gaining UK citizenship. These introduced the idea of "probationary" citizenship and the fast-tracking of applications by those who had been deemed to perform community service. However no definition of what will be regarded as appropriate community service has been forthcoming from either the current or previous government leaving those currently on the path to citizenship confused and embittered. The path to gaining UK citizenship should be aspirational and positive yet it has turned into a legalistic, expensive, bureaucratically opaque and negative journey for those currently contributing to this society and seeking to become permanent members of the British family.
The government should scrap the requirement for community service as no such requirement exists for existing UK citizens, thereby creating a two-tiered notion of citizenship. It should also bear in mind that existing community based organisations are in no place to deal with the (likely cyclical and short term) volunteering that would result under such a scheme and nor are they experts in providing community or civics education. The requirement for community service will also act as a severe disincentive for highly skilled professionals to make the commitment of becoming UK nationals (and potentially long-term UK taxpayers).
