make full time jobs, not 16 hour a week jsa replacement positions!

Stop allowing big companies like tescos building supermakrets then filling them with staff who can only get jobs at 16 hours a week! this is obviously some con the government has with these companys to get people off their dole figures. 16 hours a week is  maximum hours you can work on jsa before it is stopped. its clear that they are doing this as a way of getting people off dole, but its an underhand way of keeping people stuck in poverty! how r people suposed to be independent from benefits when they cant get full time work? make full time jobs and give people proper jobs where they can get a proper wage!

Repeal the part of the Road Traffic Act 1988 on closed road for special events

Throughout Europe (and also in Northern Ireland and the Isle of Man), ‘closed road’ events bring great benefit to the local communities in terms of tourism, economic prosperity and sporting kudos. The UK is at a disadvantage and is not able to reap these benefits because s.12(1), of the Road Traffic Act 1988, makes it an offence for a person to promote or take part in a race or trial of speed between motor vehicles on a public way. Though it is understandable that this legislation is directed at preventing dangerous and unregulated races and speed trials, properly monitored events can be both safe and enjoyable.  Instead of abolishing the legislation completely the new UK government could provide a mechanism to deliver a Temporary Suspension Order (in association with local authorities) that would enable a limited annual number of ‘closed road’ events to take place in England, Wales and Scotland, with the associated benefits for the regions selected. Previous studies undertaken on behalf of the Jim Clark Rally, put the figure for that one event in excess of £3m – this leads the MSA to estimate that closed road rallying for a limited number of approximately 20 events a year, could deliver substantial benefit to local areas, particularly in the low season, of between £20m and £60m a year

Address Government’s limited power to block or repeal EU Regulations

Address the problem of the Government's limited power to block new EU Regulations.

Protect and Restore our Sovereign Rights.

Address the problem of the Government's limited power to repeal existing EU Regulations.

More time and attention should be given to negotiate and release our nation from the Red Tape that the EU has imposed, so that our elected government has more room to manoeuvre in introducing new domestic regulations.

Govt must think in terms of time

Both taxes and regulation can be increased indefinitely.   They both layer cost on a business, directly for taxes, indirectly for regulation.

Thus the only way to avoid tax and regulation running out of control is to think in terms of what proportion of time is it reasonable to expect a business to dedicate to the govt.

So if it is decided that business should dedicate 1/6th of time annually to the govt, then the two extremes are

1.  2 months profit is paid in tax,  but the business is exempt from any other regulation that requires any time to be spent on ensuring compliance

2. No tax is paid, but 2 months of working time annually is required to be spent on regulatory compliance.

Obviously the solution lies in the middle, but time is the key commodity that needs to be considered above all else.

END RESTRICTIONS ON SUNDAY TRADING

Allow all retailers to open their premises on all Sundays without restriction. Whether or not to open on Sundays and for how long should be a business decision made in consultation with and preferably by agreement with the staff concerned. Existing protections in employment law for staff who wish to observe Sunday as a holy day should be retained.

Remove the Sunday trading act 1994

I feel that the Sunday Trading Act 1994 should be removed. Majopr retailers should not be allowed to trade at all on a Sunday. This will help re-install family values, it will encouarge people to spend time toghther as families. By all shops being restricted to this law it would ensre fairness. Small business would still be able to suceed in the marktet place, and big business can reduce some costs. The good that this would do our country is almost impossible to measure.

Changing our Clocks

Rather than discussing what to do about putting the clocks forward or back we should align our clocks with those of our neighbours in Europe giving us more daylight hours.   Scotland should then be free to consider its own destiny.

Motorway Hard Shoulder Exit

Currently you can spend an enormous time sitting in a jam on the motorway when the hard shoulder is clear.   Motorists should be allowed to use the hard shoulder from the 300metre countdown markers to exit the motorway.
