Simplify and reduce the complexity of the tax system.

Why is this idea important?

I understand that over the past 20 to 30 years the 'red book' has increased year upon year.  The more complex the taxation system, the more people will try to create ways to avoid the complicated and tedious rule that are put in place to prevent this.  Simple taxes will be cheaper to collect and administer.  This could reduce the bureaucracy in HMRC by a considerable amount. I believe that the average man in the street should be able to complete a tax return without the need for an accountant.
