In future, that every time the government makes a major decision, it is the public who decide via a majority vote. As opposed to some unaccountable politicians and/or businessman

Why is this idea important?

Ticking a box once every five years, then crossing our fingers and hoping is a very weak form of democracy. If the tax-paying public had a say on every major decision that was passed, we would be some way  to be a true democracy.

And I believe this would go some way to ending 'voter apathy' – if people felt genuinely involved in the political decisions that effect their lives, rather than blatantly ignored, as we have been for so long now.
