Communal homes for school age single parents

Young single parent mothers who have children out of a relationship should be placed in communal accommodation with communal kitchens and living rooms, support services like social workers, creches and life skill teachers. Most parents of these mothers throw the girls our of their home and they often fall onto the state for support. This is very expensive and placing these women onto often rundown estates creates future generations of state dependents as these women are given very little support to bring up their children properly.

Communal accommodation for those that require state help when they fall pregnant will allow for greater social cohesion than placing mothers in council accommodation on estates where they get little support with parenting skills and will be a perpetual burden on the estate and foster generational state dependency. Single mothers have to often perform a difficult role and they are poorly equipped due to their immaturity. This will allow for young women to regain independence by providing support for continuing in education or vocational training so that they can stand on their own two feet and move out when they have the means to do so, without having a dependency on the state. Private companies could take over this role and be paid bonuses for each woman who moves out to work and support themselves, incentivising the private company to provide real help to these women. The community atmosphere would be nurturing and each woman could lend each other advice and support and this would allow for them to regain a sense of dignity and community as most young girls become excluded from most of their school friends when they become single parents.

Caring for the vulnerable in KIND not CASH

My daughter faught for independance – born paraplegic with she relied on her wheelchair to get around. Social Services dolled out cash in the form of DLA – Disability Living Allowance and SDA – Severe Disability Allowance and gave her money to purchase her own care when she could not even tell the time. The flat she was given had ASBO issues known to Social Services and my daughter was told to document goings-on for over 12 months which she did but the courts could not do anything apart from slap an ASBO order on the culprit. My daughter did not understand that by accepting the CASH she had made herself soley responsible for her own well-being. She died from neglect aged 31 years.

Stop Forced Adoption of Children

Currently a Social Worker can undertake reports to an adoption prior to any court decision, thus as a planning process approve a care plan for adoption, rather than work to reunite or rehabilitate with Parents. It is prejudicial and destabilizing to parents who seek the return of children taken from them in a Justice system that is weighted against parents in any Family Court Proceedings. Social Workers act in an unchecked system, not audited and without adequate process and proceedures. Frameworks that never uses – shall or will – any contract with a statutory Parent or body should ensure unhuman Social Workers be required to act properly – not on a maybe or perhaps Framework.

Pararel Planning under ICO is costly and wasteful, given the time in Court Process under Care Proceedings  a 6week direction by a Judge should be made prior after a fair open court hearing.

Help unpaid carers to care

Unpaid carers are generally regarded as a resource at best and as a nuisance at worst by health and social care professionals.   Research shows that they often become ill through stress due to the demands of their caregiving role and the associated obstructive bureaucracy.   Instead of exploiting and subjugating them, my idea is firstly to invest in unpaid carers by paying them appropriately for the work they do and secondly, to 'open up' residential care homes as suggested by Julia Neuberger in her book 'The Moral State we're in'.   If they were pleasant places to work in and visit (as few are) standards of care would improve and expensive quangos such as the Care Quality Commission would gradually become redundant.

Replace the term “Service User” with “Tenant” in contracts

Currently the contract a disabled or elderly person has to sign when living in a home refers to them as "Service Users" rather than "Tenants". This means that they have no rights under the law from being evicted from the Care Home. The Care Home does not have to give any reason for the eviction or prove any change in the persons disability to an independant body, except that they, the Care Home owners, wish the person to leave.Sometimes this notice can be less than a month!! I know of disabled people who have lived in the same Care Home for over 25 years, who regarded it literally as their home, having been evicted as a result of a change of "management policy". They have none of the rights that a Council tenant would have living in a council house, although some Care Home places are paid for by the Council and under the Council "Duty of care". In this day and age the most vulnerable people in our society should be better protected by our laws. They should not be allowed to be thrown on the streets as a result of a Care Homes change of policies or an indiviual Care Home employees vindictiveness……

Forced adoption – the state is kidnapping children

there is a national scandal whereby social workers and family courts are kidnapping children from their parents in closed family courts. My grandchildren are to be taken away out of the county to who knows where this Friday. They are utterly distraught. You must deal with this Kafkaesque injustice. This is supposed to be England not Nazi Germany! How many more cases must there be and more tragedies before this is properly investigated and dealt with.

The outrage against this is growing daily. Listen to Christopher Booker, Sir Bob Geldoff. There will be a public reckoning over this. Deal with it now!

freedom to remain in your care home

The white paper "valuing People" should be more flexible and not pidgeon hole everyone with learning disabilities. people with severe health problems and profound handicap should be given the choice to remain in their care home and not be forced to live in the community, being cared for by people who don't know them and who don't have the health care training of their present carers. Parents like myself know from years of experience what is best for our sons and daughters, not PCTpartnership board managers or politicians who are trying to "normalise" society. my son is brain damaged and severely handicapped but is living a happy fulfilled life where he is and to confuse and disorientate him by an unnecessary move is cruel. The cost of this project is absurd and in these times of economic hardship, surely improvements to a 20 year old purpose built care home would be a much better solution than spending millions on adapting and refitting private houses.

Ban Care Proceedings against Innocent Parents

Care Proceedings in the UK family courts are pure Theatrics and everyone knows the failed Criminal Barristers and Solicitors that specialise in Family Law are the most corrupt around. Proceedings should only be launched within the most serious circumstances and the thresholds should be higher.

The Barristers and Solicitors should not permited to work for the Local Authority, Cafcass and Parents, this must create a conflict of interests, because lets face it the Local Authority are going to make any firm of solicitors a shed load of cash.

Before anyone jumps on me for advocating Child Abuse etc in the UK, then please take the time to visit any family court up and down the country your unlikely to find them full of Parents like those of Babt P,the majority are  just normal parents that have fallen foul of Children's Services and bad Social Work Practices.

The Majority of Children in the UK removed from parents due to "risk of future emotional harm".
