The current situation is totally out of scope with societies feelings on the matter in that they find it abhorrent that convicted criminals can make money through the legal system against the justice system at a cost to the taxpayer when claiming against taxpayers organisations and representatives who are working on their behalf.
The cost burden win or loose in defending against these claims is escalating each year at a detriment to service provision, primarily due to the ever increasing compensation claim culture advertised and promoted by interested parties offering legal services to convicted criminals/offenders at taxpayers expense.
The majority of cases brought are found to be unjustified.
The current situation probably impedes service provision through over caution and fear of legal retribution.
The current situation encourages and favours potential litigants in regard to unwarranted actions against public servants.
This addressing of current circumstances is long overdue.
Proper re-addressing of this matter would in the long term save the taxpayer potentially millions of pounds in revenue.
THE CURRENT SITUATION DOES NOT FACILITATE A FAIR AND BALANCED APPROACH ACCEPTED OR APPROVED OF BY THE GENERAL PUBLIC IN REGARD TO THEIR EXPECTATIONS OR BELIEFS AT THIS TIME
