The idea

This "service" run by the large Direct marketing Companies is a means of preventing small businesses getting in contact with the clients of the major Direct Marketing companies.  As such it is clearly anti-competitive in its actions and does not allow small companies to develop.  Prevention of small business activity within the UK stops the creation of, admittedly low-level, job opportunities within all sorts of Service companies and ensures that the market is dominated by a few large organisations who then peg salaries for all.

Removing this would allow people to develop new skills and for small business to grow.

Why is it important?

Prevention of the growth of small business activity within the UK stops the creation of, admittedly low-level, job opportunities within all sorts of Service companies and ensures that the market is dominated by a few large organisations who then peg salaries for all.

Removing this would allow people to develop new skills and for small business to grow: would create opportunities for personal development and advancement AND would create more positions where some handicapped, and under-employed, people would be able to operate on a level playing field with the able bodied – you cannot see the person on the phone.
