Ensure review of ISA removes unreasonable burdens

The idea

The Welsh Sports Association believes that the current review of the Idependent Safeguarding Authority must ensure that there are no unreasonable burdens on volunteers to prove themselves safe. The previous regulations implied all volunteers were potential threats by default. This is socially divisive and damaging to the whole concept of volunteering.  In particular it is essential that volunteers are fully protected from malicious or unproven allegations. The protections afforded by the current Act are wholly inadequate and lack any element of natural justice. Thousands of volunteers would be otherwise dissuaded from being involved

Why is it important?

Because thousands of volunteers would be lost and some volunteers lives could be destroyed by unproven or malicious allegations
