Scrap the Current Terrorism Threat Level warning

The idea

The current terrorism threat level given out by the Home Office, and occasionally reported in the news, should be scrapped.  The uselessness of this extremely vague warning, which provides no practical or actionable information to the public, has long been the subject of ridicule.

Why is it important?

The threat level currently issued serves no practical purpose, and may merely cause alarm in a way which is unhelpful.

If warnings are to be given they should be specific and in a form which allows individuals to take practical steps to mitigate the risk – not simply vague warnings such as "severe" or "acute".
