The idea
The Digital Economy Act is another way of infinging freedom of speech on the internet. I'm sure that constant lobbying by members of the music and film industry are majorly responsible for this whilst trying to protect their interests by combatting illegal downloads. Whilst I certainly do not condone illegal downloading. The way in which "filesharers" are being targetted is completely wrong. The Digital Economy Act needs to be completely dropped and instead, the music and film industries should be encouraged to find differerent economic models which bring them in to the 21st century.
Why is it important?
Civil liberty and freedom of speech would be harmed.
