The idea
Change the law which prevents the Local Authority from entering private land to remove items of fly tipping.
Asbestos was recently dumped on private land and the Local Authority had to pay a private contractor to remove it because of this law.
Why is it important?
Because of the high costs of removing this type of hazardous waste, it will continue to be dumped. It is the responsibility of the Local Authority to keep all areas clear of hazardous waste and this law prevents them from doing this.
