even though i'm a gay man i believe that the laws which outlaw prostitution should be repealed for several reasons: in the first place it would bring what is an employment which is untaxed within the purview of hm revenue; secondly it would have an effect to the good on the dreadful crime of rape; because rape would be reduced then there would be fewer imprisonments for that crime and a saving to the ministry of justice. the necessary health checks would be paid for by the prostitutes themselves as an element of their retaining their licences; maybe similar to the mot tests required for motor vehicles. vat could also be added to the services of the prostitutes. the prostitutes themselves would be safer at work too not having to fear attacks similar to the murders several years ago of a number of sex workers
