The idea
Repeal sections 132 to 138 of the Serious Organised Crime and Police Act 2005. This is the section which prohibits spontaneous demonstrations within 1km of parliament.
Why is it important?
In a speech in April 2002 Tony Blair said … "I pass protesters every day at Downing Street, and believe me, you name it, they protest against it. I may not like what they call me but I thank God they can. That's called freedom"
In April 2005 Tony Blairs Government abolished Freedom by introducing the ban on protesting in designated areas,
Will this Government now reinstate it?
