The idea
In many departments there are policies and research on the same issues from different angles. Where this happens information should be shared and in some cases departments should be merged or re-merged. For example why is Climate Change its own department instead of being part of DEFRA. If it needs to be its own department – then dont duplicate some of the work in DEFRA!
Why is it important?
Why do we have duplication – apart from job creation from the last government and money wasting? We should be looking at working smarter and more effieciently. Removing government waste is one of the most important areas we need to look at as a country.
