The idea
Restore the rights of parents to administer punishment to wayward children, else remove their accountability when the kids commit anti-social offenses.
Why is it important?
Whenever we hear about children getting into trouble, the responsibility of their parents is always brought to the forefront. Yet, these same parents, when they recognise unacceptible behavior from their offspring, are prohited by law from administering appropriate discipline. I am not condoning beatings which will put the child in A&E, but a smack on the backside never did me any harm. On the contrary, it served to keep me out of more serious trouble.
