The idea
I agree with alot of what's been said about the legalisation of drugs, but not the manner in which people seem to think it should be sold, Holland does actually have drug related crimes/health problems. I think the Police would be the best people to sell drugs! They confiscate it from the vicious drug gangs already, so have a healthy supply. People then register with their local cop shop, are given a quick health check, informed of the risks, then given the right to choose what they want. The police have the right to refuse a sell, based on the person's health or age, and of course, keep records of how much people are using. This way, peopIe buy good clean drugs from a safe environment, and the police make extra venue. Each police station can then use this new income to recruit more officers/improve their working conditions/equipment/ training programmes, or even increase their salaries, the possibilities are numerous.
Why is it important?
Drug dealers can't compete with the Police, and so are out of business, more cops on the streets means less criminals running around. Everybody's happy!
